But first… Coffee

A blog of our favorite coffee shops in Todos Santos and some honorable mentions

Taller 17 - Our favorite place for coffee and pastries

Picture this. You spot a charming cafe on a vibrant street corner in a small Mexican pueblito, the aroma of pastries and coffee fill the air as you walk up closer, watching the line of eager people waiting outside you know this is going to be good.. luckily the line is quick and you have made your way in. Inside you are thrilled to see an assortment of pastries, coffee, tea and kombucha. The small shop is hip, like something you would see walking in the heart of Austin. Inside are a group of badass Mexican women running shop. You order a latte, a Jalapeño cheddar scone and a blueberry scone - you got to get both; something savory and sweet. Outside of the shop you take your first sip of coffee, you look around, you are surrounded by boutiques, art galleries, and colorful papel picado flags lining the streets. Life is good. We love this place so much we wrote a whole blog about them, read here!

DoceCuarenta - Our favorite place to work remotely

Down a small dirt road located in a palm and mango grove you’ll find a big industrial designed warehouse. The moment you walk in you know that this is so much more than just a coffee shop. This place has it all from Mezcal cocktails to unique Baja Souvenirs. Next to an incredible grand, floor to ceiling mural sits their commercial sized roaster where they turn the brown beans we know and love into some of the yummiest coffee in Baja. Great ambiance, ample seating, spacious indoor and outdoor areas, with great wifi makes this the best place to work remotely. The owners are a super rad couple who also have shops in La Paz and Los Cabos. Make sure to purchase their cold brew and a bag of their beans for the road!

Cafe Las Tunas - Our choice for best ambiance

This too is down a dusty dirt road, but then again all the best places in Baja are. This farm to table cafe aesthetic is * chefs kiss. It’s modern Mexican designed kitchen under a palapa with green tiled backsplash and the most charming outdoor seating area nestled in a farm garden is what decor dreams are made of. The coffee and food ingredients are always fresh - like I’ve literally seen them pick bananas from their farm for my açai bowl which I should add is the best in all Baja. The coffee never disappoints and their playlist doesn’t either, they occasionally have live music too. This place is such a vibe and the perfect place to catch up with friends with coffee or brunch. The owner is an awesome dude, born and raised in Baja. Ps. you can’t leave this place without giving love to their mascot Marty, such a sweet pup!

Honorable mentions

Jazamango Bakery

Morning desert walk ✔️ Chai Latte ✔️

This place is conveniently located at the beginning of a trailhead. We come here multiple times a week after a morning jog and it’s the perfect way to start the day. Ps. Try the focaccia, OMG!

Agricole

In our opinion the best grocery store in town (Pescadero). Organic produce and healthy snacks. It’s surrounded by a farm garden and the most adorable outdoor seating area to enjoy your coffee. We usually take ours to-go when on our way to Cabo. A must try is the Machaca burrito. Thank us later!

Baja Beans

The OG coffee shop in our region (Pescadero), serving up the good stuff since 2010. The coffee is exceptional and a locals favorite. There’s a ton of outdoor seating and every Sunday they host a local farmers market with live music. Our friends Zocalo also have a shop on the property, a must visit!

Cafelix

They use their own Mexican beans which you can also purchase to take home. This is the perfect spot for yummy coffee, fresh juices and hearty shakes while walking around the center of town. They also have a location in Pescadero!
